Good news: selling pressure in crypto markets is starting to ease. New data from digital-asset manager CoinShares shows that money leaving crypto investment products slowed significantly last week. Weekly outflows dropped to $187 million, a steep decline from roughly $1.7 billion in each of the two previous weeks.

Although that slowdown suggests selling pressure is cooling, the broader market still shows signs of strain. Assets under management dropped to $129.8 billion, the lowest level since March 2025, as declining crypto prices continued to pressure investor portfolios.

Bitcoin breaks below $70K

Bitcoin played a central role in the market’s decline. The cryptocurrency fell below $70,000 for the first time since November 2024, briefly touching about $64,744, which marked a 9.1% drop in a single day and left prices roughly 30% lower than at the start of the year.

That sharp move triggered widespread deleveraging across crypto markets. Within 24 hours, $1.45 billion in liquidations wiped out more than 311,000 trading positions, with $1.24 billion coming from long bets.

BTC alone accounted for about $738 million of those forced sales. Meanwhile, the market recorded an entity-adjusted realized loss of $3.2 billion, and the total crypto market cap fell 8% to $2.3 trillion.

Market rotation emerges

Despite the losses, trading activity surged. Crypto exchange-traded products reached a record $63.1 billion in weekly trading volume, surpassing the $56.4 billion peak from October 2025. Instead of exiting crypto entirely, investors appear to be shifting strategies.

Bitcoin saw $264 million in outflows, while XRP attracted $63.1 million, Solana $8.2 million, and Ethereum $5.3 million, with XRP bringing in $109 million year-to-date.

Could this be the start of stabilization, or just a pause before another move? Analysts say the market now looks less like capitulation and more like cautious repositioning, though a true bottom has not yet been confirmed.
