EquiLend, a global leader in financial technology with a platform supporting a lendable pool of approximately $40 trillion in traditional finance assets, has made a strategic minority investment in Digital Prime Technologies, a U.S.-regulated provider of institutional crypto-finance and prime brokerage technology focused on bridging the gap between traditional and digital markets.

Building bridges between finance worlds

This investment goes beyond the usual venture. It marks a pivotal step in uniting traditional finance with the emerging world of tokenized markets. Through this partnership, EquiLend aims to strengthen the infrastructure supporting institutional participation in digital markets. The focus is on Tokenet, Digital Prime’s platform for managing institutional lending, collateral, and risk across the lifecycle of tokenized assets.

Tokenet is more than just a platform. It makes it easier for institutions to work with multiple custodians, monitor exposure, and produce detailed reports. The goal is to create a seamless link between the digital world and traditional financial systems. Digital Prime plans to add regulated stablecoin collateral to this effort and branch out into other tokenized assets.

EquiLend’s CEO, Rich Grossi, views this investment as a significant step toward integrating tokenized assets into the financial system. He emphasizes that, just as with traditional securities, institutions require transparency and governance for these emerging digital assets. Nick Delikaris, a key figure in the partnership, noted that the challenges in digital asset financing are similar to those in traditional securities lending, including fragmented workflows and limited collateral mobility.

The future of finance is here

With the evolving U.S. regulatory landscape and greater alignment between traditional financial systems and digital asset regulations, EquiLend and Digital Prime’s move paves the way for greater institutional participation in tokenized markets.

This partnership between EquiLend and Digital Prime isn’t just about technology. It’s about building the future of finance, where digital and traditional assets work together seamlessly.
