Indonesia's DANA Expands Beyond Digital Payments After 01FGroup Investment

Indonesia’s DANA is preparing to expand beyond everyday digital payments after securing an investment from 01FGroup through its FinTech private equity arm, 01Fintech. The partnership will explore lending, savings, insurance and cross-border payments while strengthening financial access for small businesses and underserved communities. Neither company has disclosed the size or terms of the investment.

DANA expands services

Operating since 2018, DANA provides an integrated ecosystem covering digital payments, QRIS and money transfers for consumers, merchants and financial institutions. Its reach extends from major metropolitan areas into Tier 2 to Tier 4 regions, where the platform supports millions of users and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Under the partnership, 01Fintech and DANA plan to explore ways of connecting MSMEs with scalable lending and working capital solutions. Underserved users could also gain wider access to micro-insurance, digital savings and wealth-building products as the platform broadens its financial services.

Another focus will be regional connectivity, with 01FGroup’s network potentially helping develop more efficient cross-border payment options for Indonesian consumers and merchants. DANA already participates in Indonesia’s QRIS Cross-Border network, which connects payment systems in markets including Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Investment targets growth

Indonesia’s expanding digital economy provides the backdrop for the deal, with digital payments projected to approach $1 trillion by 2030. 01FGroup sees the country as one of Asia’s most dynamic digital-payment markets, supported by strong digital adoption and a large consumer base.

Founder and Managing Partner Kenny Man said DANA’s operational discipline, support for local MSMEs and resilience were central to the investment decision. CEO and co-founder Vince Iswara added that 01Fintech brings specialist FinTech expertise and regional connections alongside its capital.

Ultimately, the partnership gives DANA additional backing as it develops a broader financial ecosystem around its established payments network, particularly for smaller businesses and communities outside Indonesia’s biggest cities.
