Polygon Labs has completed its acquisition of Coinme, strengthening its position in the US payments industry. The deal brings regulated financial services into Polygon Open Money Stack (OMS), connecting traditional banking systems with blockchain technology. Businesses can now use the platform to manage cross-border transfers, digital wallets and stablecoin payments through a single integration.
Coinme expands US payment coverage
Following the acquisition, Polygon’s US payments business now operates across 48 states through 37 money transmitter licences and 11 applicable exemptions. Its registration with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) further supports the company’s regulated payment operations.
OMS combines banking connections, digital wallets and blockchain settlement systems to help businesses move funds more efficiently. Customers can deposit money through banks, cards or cash, transfer value using blockchain networks and withdraw funds through supported payment channels. The platform aims to reduce the need for multiple service providers when handling international transactions. Companies can manage payments, account balances and withdrawals within one connected system.
Four companies adopt Polygon OMS
Polygon has named Tazapay, Mesh, Toku and Kira among the platform’s first customers, demonstrating its applications across different financial services. Tazapay, serving more than 1,000 enterprises and fintechs across over 30 countries, uses OMS to connect stablecoins with local currencies and simplify international business payments. Mesh integrates Polygon’s payment infrastructure into its network of more than 300 wallets, exchanges and financial services, expanding funding options for digital asset users.
Meanwhile, Toku, operating in over 100 countries, connects stablecoin payments with compliant global payroll services, allowing workers to convert earnings into local currency. Kira uses the platform to expand stablecoin options alongside its US banking services, including ACH, Fedwire and FedNow transfers. Polygon says OMS is already live, positioning the company to serve businesses seeking integrated traditional and blockchain-based payment solutions.
